[Objective] To observe the apoptosis-induction function of Artesunate on the primary cells of patients with Acute Leukemia (AL) through experiment and clinical research; Provide experimental and clinical basis for applying Artesunate to treat Acute Leukemia,[Methods] Experiment: Bone marrow cells from preliminary diagnosed patients of Acute Leukemia (AL) have been primarily cultured and different dosage of Artesunate have been administrated to these primary cells. Then, observe the influence of Artesunate on the proliferation of primary cells with MTT methods.Clinical research: All the sixteen observing objects are preliminary diagnosed patients of AL in the First Affiliated Hospital of Guanzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and they have been grouped into two groups. Pharmacodynamic-action research have been performed . Therapy for the observing group is intravenous drip infusion of Artesunate combined with conventional chemotherapy (Group A); therapy for the control group is intravenous drip infusion of normal sodium combined with conventional chemotherapy (Group B). Curative effects of Artesunate on AL have been evaluated according to the results of clinical research. The clinical research follows principle of randomization, control and simple blind method.[Results] Experiment: Artesunate has obvious inhibitory action on primary cells of AL. The inhibitory action is dose-dependent, after reacted with primary cells of AL for forty-eight hours, different dosage of Artesunate exhibit different inhibition ratio: 100μg/ml VS 59.26 %, 50μg/ml VS 51.93%, 25μg/ml VS 44.80%, 12. 5μg/ml VS 36.26%, 6. 25μg/ml VS 39. 93%。 According to the principles of statistics, the 50% inhibiting concentration (IC50) of Artesunate is 17. 9μg/ml. Clinical research: Total effective rate of Group A is 87. 5%, rate of...
