| Aim: To study the mechanism of the clinical effect of YC and to make a basic study about it, we built a rat model by prednisone, and explored the different effect of Yang Tin TCM YC and Wen Yang TCM GW on the weight of body and main inner organ and the adrenal ultrastructure of this model.Methods: Animal groups: Grow-up SD rats 40( body weight 350±20g) were divided into 4 groups at random. Prednisone group: Offer prednisone acetate slices 3mg, once; YC group: Offer prednisone acetate slices 3mg and YC 1g, once; GW group: Offer prednisone acetate slices 3mg and GW 1g, once; Control group: Offer normal saline; Medicine was dissolved in normal saline and was perfused into stomach directly. TCM or prednisone was given alternately every other day, 12 d altogether (total dose: prednisone 15mg, TCM5g). Measurement index: The weight of large organ including heart, liver, spleen, kidney, thyroid gland, testicle and the ultrastructure of zona reticularis cell of adrenal gland were obtained 24h after the last application of medicine.Results: The testicle weight of YC group was (1.89±0.08)g, and that of control group, prednisone group, GW group was (1.69±0.10)g, (1.71 ± 0.06)g, (1.72±0.15)g respectively.
