With the development of computer technology and computer graphics, 3D reconstruction technology of medical image has been carried out widely. During the course of diagnoses, it makes us know more about the degree of disease. Because of those, we develop the software system using the 3D reconstruction technology to apply on the spine articulation.In this thesis, the theory and method about visualization in scientific computing are introduced and described. Especially the method of surfacing rendering and volume rendering. Several 3D rendering methods and their characters are analyzed.The foundation of 3D reconstruction is introduced. It's necessary to pretreatment the original data. Including change of image's format, classification of data, filtering, registration of image, insert data and so on. The last step is encapsulation of the volume data.Ray casting volume rendering and some involved technology, such as volume data's classification, shading model, resampling and mapping, are introduced. Flow chart of 3D reconstruction method and 3D spine system is displayed. All of the system function is using the design of VC++ and theory of alternation between people and computer.At last, the thesis is illuminated by the 3D spine model, and comparing the model's effect of ray casting and the other volume rendering method. It's true that the result of this thesis is very good and useful.
