Objective Benign prostatic hyperplasia is the most common disease of old men .It's morbidity increases obviously along with their age. To treat benign prostatic hyperplasia is a popular topic due to the increasing of old people along with the development of the society. Benign prostatic hyperplasia mainly cause bladder outflow obstruction and disfuction of the bidder, Bladder outflow obstruction cause urinary retention, upper urinary tract to hydrops,and damage of renal function, seriously affected the life-span of the patients. Thamuria pressing incontinence are the most common appearance of detrusor instability caused by bladder disfunction, seriously affect the life quality .Most patient with benign prostatic hyperplasia appear as dysfunction of the bladder. Tremendous progress have been made about drug treatment of detrusor instability, but still have a long way to go. So it is worthy to have a deep research of detrusor instability secondary of benign prostatic hyperplasia. A lot of investigation have been done about detrusor instability caused by bladder outflow obstruction, beta-3adrenoceptor is a hot spot. .Most animal test-model indicate that beta-3adrenoceptor can mediate relaxation of detrusor muscle, but no report could be seen about man with benign prostatic hyperplasia. Method We studied 30 patient with benign prostatic hyperplasia bladder outflow obstruction, of which 15 were with detrusor instability, 15 not. They were all have an operation of resection of the prostate through bladder.
