Objective: To inverstigate the diagnostic value of measurement of serum PCT,CRP,LPS level in patients with community acquired pneumonia(CAP). Methods: Subjects were divided into two observed groups (community acquired pneumonia group 30 patients),and control group (18 health people ). All serum samples were collected on the first day without food, and were centrifugaled, were stored-20℃for the measurements of PCT (by Brahms PCT-Q),CRP(by using immunity-turbidity method), LPS(by ELISA). Results: Serum PCT levels ≥0.5μg/L in 29 cases of 36 cases with CAP, the positive rate is 80%; serum CRP levels ≥10mg/L in 34 cases of 36 cases with CAP, the positive rate of CRP is 92%; serum LPS levels ≥10pg/ml in 35 cases of 36 cases with CAP,the positive rate of LPS is 94%; WBC count > 10×109/L in 17cases of 36 cases with CAP, the positive rate of CRP is 47.2%. For PCT, CRP, LPS,WBC count, the sentivities were 80%, 92%, 94% and 47.2%;the specifitics were 88%, 64%, 30% and 95% for CAP diagnosis. For PCT, CRP, LPS,WBC count, neutrophil proportion, body temperature, the statistic differences were obvious(all p<0.01)between community acquired pneumonia group and control group. The mark of PCT in the lightly CAP group(Ⅰ,ⅡFine's risk classification) was significantly higher than the medium and serious CAP group(Ⅲ,Ⅳ,ⅤFine's risk classification) ( p <0.01). For PCT, CRP, LPS,WBC count, neutrophil proportion, body temperature, the statistic differences were not obvious(all p>0.05) between two groups. Conclusions: The measurements of the PCT,CRP,LPS levl is helpful for diagnosing community acquired pneumonia. The PCT levl is related to the severity of pneumonia.
