Background:Effective antihypertensive treatment is already verified to reduce, avoid and postpone the complications of essential hypertension, and to reduce the disabilities, improve the quanlity of life and prolong the life span of the hypertensive patients. Therefore, many new antihypertensive medicine has been developed. In the past 30 years, many studies show that 24-hour sustamed antihypertensive is the optical model of antihypertension. So, long term action, slow release (S R), and gastrointestinal theapeutic system(GITS) tablets appears one after another. NifedipineSR and NifedipineGITS are the typical tablets with long term action, but the similarity and the differences of antihypertensive actions between them have rarely been reported. 24-hour blood pressure monitoring(ABPM) can help us to observe more comprehensively blood pressure status on antihypertensive efficacy of the medicine.Objectives:1 To observe the antihypertensive efficacies, the similarity and the differences of Nifedipine SR and Nifedipine GITS as well as its' effects on the levels of the relevant biochemistry factors, heart rate and blood pressure variability by the 24-hour blood pressure monitoring system.2 To guide the Doctors to prescribe those medicine for enssential hypertension properly. Methods:The subjects in this study consisted of 32 patients with essential hypertension ( grade 1 or grade 2) measured by both table BP apparatus and ABPM. Any previous antihypertensive and lipid lowering medications were discontinued for 5 t1/2 prior to recruiting the study. All cases undertaken the 24 hour noninvasive blood pressure monitoring (ABPM.) Day and night have been defined through fixed time intervals, the analyzed parameters were 24-hour systolic blood pressure (SBP), diastolic blood pressure(DBP), mean daytime SBP and DBP, mean nighttime SBP and DBP, Blood pressure load(BPL), blood pressure variability(BPV) and the heart rate. Before ABPM, AH cases were undergone the assay of serum biochemistry as well as liver function, blood sugar and TC, TG, LDL etc. After that, they were randomized to be divided into two groups equally. One group were prescribed Nifedipine... |
