[ Objective ] To discover the condyle movement characters of Angle class two malocclusion, and to offer the guidelines for clinical diagnosis and plan of treatment. [Methods] Thirty volunteers were chosen for this study , aged from 18 to 25 yearswith the mean years of 22. 4. According to the Angle classification the volunteers were divided into two groups and each group included 15 persons;the tracings of condyle movement were recorded by CADIAXIII, then to study the qualitative and quatitative characters among II~1 II~2 and the normal group.[Results] 1) The condylar movement tracings of Angle class two malocclusion hadclassical characters, but individualizations also were found. 2) During open/close movement, the sagital distances in right condyle and the biggest space distances in both condyle of Angle class two malocclusion were smaller than the normal, meanwhile, the vertical distances in left condyle of II1 were smaller than the normal;the difference is statistically significant. 3)During protrusion/retrusion movement, the tracings of II1 were bigger than the normal in the biggest space distances of both condyles and in left sagital distances;and the difference between II and IIZ is statistically significant in left sagital distances (II~1 > II2). 4) During mediotrusion/left movement, II1 were smaller in right sagital distances than the normal, but were bigger in right horizontal distances;and the vertical distances of II2 in right condyle were bigger than the normal. During mediotrusion/right movement the left horizontal distances were bigger in II" than the normal.[Conclusions J 1) The condylar movement tracings of Angle class two malocclusion hadclassical characters, but individualizations also were found. 2)The length of protrusion/retrusion was significantly longer in II1 than the contral group.3) The vertical dimensions were big significantly in II~2 which the distances of condyle movement were greater than the normal, and it maybe correlate to deep overbite.Graduate-Fang JianQiang (Orthordontics) Directed by - professor Chen Jie...
