Investigation And Analysis Of The Cancer Patients' Quality Of Life During Chemotherapy

Objective To explore the cancer patients' quality of life and the influent factors in our hospital during chemotherapy; To provide reference to improve therapeutic effect, the relationship between doctors and patients and patients' quality of life. Methods We interviewed the patients of lung cancer, breast cancer and alimentary tract cancer from 2004.10 to 2005.03 with widely-used QLQ-C30 questionnaire which was modified properly. The cancer patients completed the QLQ-C30 questionnaire before, during the early and the later period of treatment. We used the SAS software to analyse the data. Results We received 65 questionnaire of lung cancer, 116 questionnaire of breast cancer, 86 questionnaire of alimentary tract cancer. It showed that there was no significantly variation about QOL of lung cancer and alimentary tract cancer during the chemotherapy. Fatigue, insomnia and the gastrointestinal symptoms of the breast cancer patients got worse during the chemotherapy. Many factors influent QOL in an interaction and integration way, especially economic statue, operation and clinic stage of tumor. Conclusions we should pay more attention to QOL of cancer patients and offer drugs, psychological intervention therapy to improve therapeutic effect and QOL of cancer patients.
