ObjectivesTo compare the effects of three training methods (traditional teaching, multimedia instruction and self - instruction) on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation -Basic Life Support ( CPR - BLS) skill training in clinical nurses, and identify the best method for the training of CPR - BLS skill in clinical nurses. To compare skill retention of each method at immediate and three months and six months after initial training, and search the optimal CPR - BLS retraining period.MethodsQuasi - experimental design was used. 162 clinical nurses from Medical, Surgical and Emergency Departments of three tertiary -level hospitals (The Second Hospital of China Medical University, The Eighth Hospital of Shenyang Medical college and The Fifth Hospital of Shenyang ) in Shenyang were recruited by purposive sampling.
