Chemotherapy has gotten more and more important for curing malignant tumor. But drug resistance and side effect remain to be an important issue for clinician. Therefore, it is an urgent priority to find new style anticancer drugs. In our country, many researchers have investigated lots of Chinese herbal medicines under the guidance of the traditional medical theory of dealing with tumor. They have found some anticancer compound that may be effective, and a few of them have been used cure cancer by clinician.Sargentgloryvine fatty acid sodium (SFAS) is an agent extracted from Sargentgloryvine and other Chinese herbal medicines. These medicines are used cure tumor by some traditional Chinese physicians. It is said that it's effective to cure digestive system's, systema respiratorium's and female tumors.Objective: To investigate the inhibitory effect of SFAS on the growth of human hepatoma cell line SMMC-7721 in vitro and discuss its mechanism.Methods: SFAS injection and culture fluid PRMI-1640 are mixed in different proportion. Three kinds of fluid (SFAS density is 500ug/ml, lmg/ml and 2mg/ml respectively) have been gotten. In the same way, the fluid consisted of 5-Fu (1mg/ml) has been gotten.
