Objectives :To observe the role of combined use of early micro-feeding and intravenous nutrition in premature infants. Methods:Eighty-one cases of premature infants were randomly divided into two groups.Early micro-feeding and intravenous nutrition were given in one group (EF&INgroup) and anther group (control group)was given only with gastroenteric feeding .The time of physiological body weight descent jaundice disappearance , meconium excretion and hospital stay ,the increase of body weight and cure rate and the changes in related data were compared between the two groups. Result: 1 The body weight was significantly increased in EF &IN group than in control group(p<0.01); 2 The time of physiological body weight descent , jaundice disappearance and hospital stay was shorter in EF&IN group than in control group(p<0.05); the time of meconium excretion had no significant difference in two groups(p>0.05); 3 Cure rate was the significantly higher in EF &IN group than in control group(p<0.05). Conclusions: Combined use of early micro-feeding and intravenous nutrition is superior to the only use of feeding in shortening the course, heightening cure rate, increasing the body weight, beginning the oral-intake .Be beneficial to development and growth for premature infants.
