Objective:Toinvestigate the effects of Apoptosis in liver during acute cerebral ischemia. Methods:36 rats were randomly divided into control group(n=6) and acute cerebral ischemia (ACI) model groups(n=30) .Experimental model was established by ligating right carotid artery and coagulating right vertebral artery and were randomly divided into 5 groups of ACI 30min, ACI 60min,ACI 90min,ACI 120min,ACI 180min. Liver function and tumor necrosis factor(TNF-a), MDA, calcium and apoptosis label(TUNEL) were measured .Alteration of liver ultrastructure was also seen under light microscope and electron microscope.Results:(1)The content of MDA, TNF-a , calcium in serum at ACI60min were obviously higher than control group(P<0.05~0.01) and reached the peak at 180min; The content of calcium, MDA in liver was higher at the same time than control group(P<0.01) and increased gradually then:(2)The content of TNF-a in liver at ACI30min was expressed and stronger expressed at 180min(P<0.01); (3) The content of ALT , AST were higher at ACI90min than control group(P<0.05~0.01); The content of LDH was higher at ACI 120min compared with control group(P<0.05~0.01) ;(4) The content of MDA, TNF-a , calcium and ALT had a positive correlation(P<0.01);(5)Apoptosis in live was confirmed by positive results of TUNEL expression. Apoptosis index was gradually increased compared with control group(P<0.01).Conclusions:There was secondary liver injury during theacute cerebral ischemia, apoptosis in liver was induced in thephase of ACI,which may play an important role in liver injuryin rats.
