Objective Hepatic fibrosis occurs before hepatic cirrhosis. Recent medical research shows that the early stage of hepatic fibrosis is reversible, but if it develops into hepatic cirrhosis, it becomes irreversible. Nothing convenient to perform can cure hepatic cirrhosis and get back liver its former look. So to find, diagnose hepatic fibrosis and take efficient therapeutic steps early is very important.Until now liver puncture biopsy is the most reliable method to diagnose hepatic fibrosis, but it is invasive and not easy to perform repeatedly and widely, so its application is limited. As for the aspect of noninvasive examinations, many molecules in serum related to hepatic fibrosis have been found, but they can't diagnose early hepatic fibrosis exactly. This research aims to see the changes in the fluorescence spectroscopy of serum which is induced by laser of different wave length when hepatic fibrosis and cirrhosis is developing and the values of them, in purpose that we could find a new way to diagnose early hepatic fibrosis. Methods 80 SD rats are used, half of which are male. They are divided into two groups. There are 10 rats in the normal group, while 70 in the hepatic fibrosis group. The normal group is fed normally, and the hepatic fibrosis group is induced hepatic fibrosis by 50%CCL4 solution. At the end of the 7th week, Fluorescence spectroscopy of the serum is gathered, and the biopsy of liver tissues is done in the normal group. From the 4th to 12th week, the same is done to rats in the hepatic fibrosis group. Hepatic fibrosis is divided into 6 levels according to Wang Bao-en's standard(in this paper, in the hepatic fibrosis group, rats of fibrosis levels 0-â…¢ was called early hepatic fibrosis group, and rats of fibrosis levels â…£-â…¥ was called hepatic cirrhosis group). ORIGIN,SPSS are used to calculate and analyze the data. Results Ratio(z1/z2) of the former two troughs (z1,z2) of the spectroscopy are calculated. With the exciting wave length of 476.5nm, There are significant differences in z1/z2 between the normal group and the hepatic fibrosis group (P<0.05). But between different fibrosis levels, there are no significant differences(P>0.05). With the exciting wave length of 488.0nm, there are significant differences between the early hepatic fibrosis group and the normal group, the hepatic cirrhosis group (P<0.05). But between the normal group and the hepatic cirrhosis group, there are no significant differences (P>0.05).Conclusions Spectroscopy with the exciting wave length of 476.5nm and 488.0nm,especially the latter, has some significance in diagnosing the trend of developing hepatic fibrosis from liver diseases. But the former can't distinguish the early stage of hepatic fibrosis and hepatic cirrhosis. There are differences between the amount of some substances in the serum of normal group and hepatic fibrosis group, which may be correlated with hepatic fibrosis. Finding out them and convincing their correlation with hepatic fibrosis or making progress in the methods of collecting and analyzing spectroscopy may make diagnosing early hepatic fibrosis reality.
