Objective To observe the toxicity and side effects of Lisea cubeba cream and excipient on animal skin and to study whether it has roles of ami- inflammatory , anti-pniritic and antifungus or not. Methods Applying toxicity experiment of skin before clinic and contrast test of random double blind. Different concentrations of Lisea cubeba cream(2%, 4%, 8%)and excipient used on guinea pig's skin for acute toxicity test, long-term toxicity test, skin irritate test, skin allergic test, photoallergic test and compared with Compound ketoconazole cream. Furthermore, we established acute inflammation animal models skin itch animal model and fungus infected animal model. We observed the effects of Lisea cubeba cream on anti-inflammatory s anti-pruritic, antifungus and compare them with the standard medicine of Compound ketoconazole cream, Fluocinonode ointment and Bifonazole cream. Results 1. We found different concentrations of Lisea cubeba cream(2%, 4%, 8%)and excipient couldn't lead to acute toxic reaction. 2. Long-term toxicity test indicated that 8% Lisea cubeba cream could caused erythema and scales on both normal skin and injured skin, while no long-term toxic reaction were observed by using 2%, 4% Lisea cubeba cream and excipient. 3. No irritate reaction occurred on both normal skin and injured skin after applied various concentrations of Lisea cubeba cream(2%, 4%, 8%) and excipient. 4. There were no skin allergic reactions occurred in different concentrations of Lisea cubeba cream(2%, 4%, 8%) and excipient. 5. Different concentrations of Lisea cubeba cream(2%, 4%, 8%) and excipient would not caused photoallergic reactions in guinea pig's skin. 6. All concentrations of Lisea cubeba cream(2%, 4%, 8%) had anti-inflammatory functions. 7. All concentrations of Lisea cubeba cream (2%, 4%, 8%) had anti-pruritic functions. 8. All concentrations of Lisea cubeba cream (2%, 4%, 8%) had effects in curing skin fungus infection, but them's effects were not satisfied. Conclusion Lisea cubeba cream is a pure vegetable oil and has certain anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic effects. It is good for anti-pruritic and has no irritations toxicity to guinea pig's skin. It has effective on dermatitis and eczema and has good prospect of exploit.
