There are present both hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) and hematopoietic microenviroment (HME), which is suitable for proliferation and differentiation of HSC. The HEM is including bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs), extracellular matrix (ECM) and various kinds hematopoietic growth factor. Bone marrow cells can give rise to osteoblast, chondroblast, adipose cell, fibroblast, endothelial cell, nerve cell and support for hematopoietic marrow cells, under the various inducible conditions. Here, we found a convenience method of inducement and differetiation from the rat whole bone marrow cells into nerve cells in vitro. We used immunocytochemistry, scanning electron microscope and fluorescein activated cell sortor(FACS) to demonstrate their morphological changes and detected the expression level of nerve cell specific antigen marker -nestin and neuronal nuclei (NeuN) in different stages, during the bone marrow cells develop into nerve cells. These studies show the existence of neural stem cells derived from bone marrow tissues, like those derived from embryonic tissues, retain the potential to differentiate into nerve cell and realize its development law in vitro.
