Hemorrhagic fever with renal sydrome, HFRS, also called epidemic hemorrhagic fever, EHF is transmitted from various rodent hosts by inhalation of infected urine, saliva or faeces. At least three of the different hantaviruses are associated with human disease: Hantaan, Seoul, and Puumala viruses. patients caused by HFRS are more than 13.5 millions, distributing over 30 regions (except QingHai province), the death toll caused by HFRS has exceeded 500 thousands in China, 90% of the total in the world. So HV infection is severely threatening people′s health. More than 10 thousands HFRS cases are in in Jilin province. Recently, morbidity is increasing, multiple manifestation suggest there may be novel hantaviruses or other Hemorrhagic fever-associated virues. Hantavirus are rodentborne, negative-straind RNA viruses of the family Bunyaviridate, enveloped viruses with a tripartite negative-sense RNA genome. The three genomic segments S, M, and L code for a nucleocapsid protein (N), two envelope glycoproteins. (G1and G2) By far, More than 20 genotypes have been found, and at least 9 distinct member of the genus Hantavirus have been associated with hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome. Novel genotypes Q32 and NC167 have been found in our country. In the study we try to determine the genotypes and distribution of hantavirus causing HFRS in Jilin province, routine serum samples from 90 HFRS cases from the infectious diseases department of first hospital of Jilin University were collected during 11-monthes period. The study included 80 males and 10 femals aged 14 to 59 years, distributing different epidemic areas. For detection HV and XHFV virus-specific immunoglobulin antibodies, IgM-capture-enzyme-linked immunosorbnet assay was performed on serum samples and IgG antibodies of Q32 (subgenotype of Hantaan), NC167, XHF and Ebola virues were detected by indirect immunofluorescent antibody assay (IFA). the results showed that the positive rate of HV-IgM andXHF- IgM is 76%, 16%, respectively. the IgG positive rates of Q32, Nc167 and XHF is 26%, 16%, 13%, respectively.In addition,one Ebola- IgG positive case was found. The conclusion is that: Jilin province is a mixed epidemic area of hantaan and seoul viruses, XHFV and novel genotype of HV infection exist.
