Study Of Prognostic Factors Of Endometrial Carcinoma

Objective To investigate the prognostic factors of endometrial carcinoma .To compare the prognostic difference between the surgical group and the non-surgical group. Methods Choose the patients with endometrial carcinoma at Tumor Hospital,Shan Xi between February, 1983 and February, 1994. Collect their clinical information , then make follow-up to observe the outcomes. Build up data collection used sas 8.0 to calculate the case-fatality rate and recurrence rate and to make COX regressive analysis: including five-year survival rate, single variable and multiple variable analysis of the prognostic factors of endometrial carcinoma. Use log-rank simplified method to make comparision of five-year survival rate between the surgical group and the non-surgical group. Results The total case-fatality rate of 215 cases is 14.00%. The mortality rate of the surgical group is 11.80%, the non-surgical group is 24.32%. There is significant difference in case-fatality rate of the two groups(x2=4.003,p<0.05). The total five-year survival rate of 215 cases is 86.25%, including the surgical group is 88.60%, the non-surgical group is 74.12%.There is no significant difference in five-year survival rate between the surgical group and the non-surgical group through the log-rank simplified method(x2=3.418,p>0.05).The total recurrence rate of 215 cases is 10.70%, including the surgical group is 10.11%, the non- surgical groupis 13.51%, there is no significant difference in recurrence rate of the two groups(x2=0.427,p>0.05). COX regressive analysis indicate: menopause, clinical stage, pathological type and treatment method are the prognostic factors of endometrial carcinoma. Conclusions The five-year survival rate of endometrial carcinoma is comparatively high. Menopause, pathological type, clinical stage and treatment method are prognostic factors of endometrial carcinoma.
