Objective: To evaluate the effect of intra-vitreous antibiotic combining with dexamethasone in the treatment of traumatic endophthalmitis and evaluate the quality standard of the drug. Method: Two procedures. First procedure: 30 New Zealand white rabbits left eyes made for endophthalmitis model, were nonrandomized to separate into three groups, control group, antibiotic group and antibiotic combined with dexamethasone group. Observe the clinic and pathologic change. Second procedure: determine thequality standard of the mixture vancomycin and dexamethesone. Result: Vancomycin withdexamethasone group have significant different with vancomycin group and control group in pathologic observation(p < 0.05). In clinic observation Vancomycin with dexamethasone group is better than vancomycin group and control group and have significant difference (p < 0.05). Conclusion: The vancomycin combining with dexamethasone are first selected in the animal experiment to treat the traumatic endophthalmitis and get satisfied results. And first made compositae of vancomycin with dexamethasone and first determine the quality standard of the compositae .
