[Objective] To study dysfunction of activated T cell in peripheral blood and make clear its role on pathogenesis in patients with recurrent tonsillitis(RT).[Methods] The T cell subsets and expression of membrane molecule on activated T cell, B cell and NK cell were analyzed in 27 RT patients and 21 control health children by using irnmunofluorescence and flowcytometry, and the level of IFN- was detected by using ELISA .[Results] CD4+ T cell and CD3+/HLA-DR+ activated T cell were significantly lower in RT patients(P<0.05,0.01) than the control. A ratio of CD4+/CD8+T cell were disproportion(P<0.01). CD19+ on B cell, and the level of IFN- Y relating to function of Thl cell were also lower(P<0.05,0.01). But no significant in CD3+T cell ,CD8+ T cell and expression of CD3+/CD25+ and CD37CD(16+56)+ between the patients and control(all P>0.05). [Conclusion] There were dysfunction of T cell in RT patients, the abnormal Thl cell function may pay an important role in pathogenesis. The lower expression of B cell correlated with T cell dysfunction.
