Clinical Significance Of Detection Of Bcl-2,Bax In Acute Leukemia

Objective: To detect the expression level of Bcl-2,Bax in acute leukemia (AL) ,so as to offer the experimental basis to judge the clinical curative effect and prognosis of AL.Methods: S-P immunocytochemistry was used in detection of the expression of bcl-2,bax in bone marrow mononuclear cells(BMMNC) from 49 cases of AL which was used to analyse the clinical curative effect of AL.Results: (1) The expression of bcl-2,bax in BMMNC from AL is significantly higher than those in the control (P＜0.01), the level of them is (49.98±29.18)%,(15.4±5.64)% respectively ;while the difference of bax between them has no statistical significance (P>0.05).The bcl-2 of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL) are all markedly higher than the control (P＜0.01). (2) The difference of bcl-2 and bax between AML and ALL has no statistical significance. (3) 16 cases are effective and 33 cases are invalid in 49 cases of AL ,the level of bcl-2 between them is different (P＜0.05). The result is the latter higher than the former .There are no difference of bax between them (P>0.05). (4) 10 cases are effective and 23 cases are invalid in 33 cases of AML , bcl-2 of the latter is higher than that of the former (P＜0.05). The difference of bax has no significance (P>0.05). 6 cases are effective and 10 cases are invalid in 16 cases of ALL. The difference of bcl-2 and bax between them has no statistical significance (P>0.05). (5) The rate of Bcl-2/Bax draw from 37 cases of AL is 2.87±3.97. 10 cases of AL are Bcl-2/Bax<1,among them 9 cases are effective, while only 3 cases from 27 are effective which are Bcl-2/Bax≥1.The difference of two groups is highly (P＜0.01). Conclusions: (1) Overexpressions of bcl-2 were found in AL. (2) The expression of bcl-2 from invalid group obviously higher than those from effective group .There is no difference of bax between them.(3)The level of bcl-2 is important to prognosis inAML.(4) To judge the clinical curative effect and prognosis of AL, the rate of Bcl-2/Bax is more sensitive than the single Bcl-2.
