Clinic Research On Ⅲ° Ankle Fracture And Dislocation Treated By Four-step Relocation With External Double-Plastic Splint Fixation

Purpose: Four-step manipulated relocation with external double-splint fixation is an advanced method of traditional Chinese orthopedics and traumatology. The Shapechangeable splint has fairly good biomechamical characteristics, and has excellent shear and bending strength. So the patients can do exericises earlier, and the function of the ankle can be restored earlier. We treated the patients with Ⅲ°-ankle fracture and dislocation by four-step relocation and external splint fixation, and companied them with treated by operation, trying to find an ideal method which can reduce the patients' pain.Method: 60 cases were divided into two groups of 30 each. The therapy group were treated by four-step relocation and external splint fixation, and the control group were treated by operation. All the cases were followed up for 10-24 monthes, and the effectiveness and the incidence of traumatic arthritis of both groups were elvoluated by the scores. Results and analysis: The result showed that the good and excellent rate of therapy group ( 76.67%)was better than that of contron group (63.33%), P＜0.05. The incidence rate of traumatic arthritis of both groups were 13.33% and 16.67% respectivetly (P＞0.05). There was no statistical difference. Conclusion: Ⅲ°-Ankle fracture and dislocation can be treated by four-step relocation and plastic splint fixation well.
