MM is a kind of malignant tumor of Plasma cells, and its incidence increases every year with the aging of population. So we should pay more attention to the research of MM. Many cases that hardly to be cure therapy by chemotherapy and radiotherapy were called refractory MM. This thesis will make a summarize on the new treatment progress of refractory MM, such as hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, immunotherapy, Thalidomide treatment, reverse the resistant of drug etc. Adopting high-dose radio-chemotherapy and hematopoietic stem-cell transplantation to treat refractory MM is a important progress in recent years. Though it has obtained good curative effect by using high-dose chemotherapy and hematopoietic stem-cell transplantation, most MM patients still relapse, the key problem is that minimal residual disease (MRD)still keeping in the patients' bodies after transplantation. In order to make the patients live longly and cured, the only way is to eliminate MRD. Now the ideal treatment strategies to eliminate MRD is adopting immunotherapy after high-dose radio-chemotherapy and hematopoietic stem-cell transplantation. The immunotherapy such as the usage of dendritic cells, the blockage of the message transmission ofIL-6. the infusion of donor's lymphocyte and the target therapy to the unique antigen on the surface of the cells on MM, and so on, has been widely used in recent years. In addition, some new therapeutic method to cure refractory MM has been explored for years. Using the thalidomide owing to its effect of antivasculogenesis has provided a new method to treat MM and inspiring effect has been actived. With the developing of the tumor, majority of the patients with MM who are sensitive to induce-chemotherapy should become resistant to chemotherapeutic drugs, even to multiple drugs and then turn into refractory MM cases. Resent studies reved the mechanism of the drug resistance and the relation between them are more and more, so do the drugs which can reverse the resistance. With the further knowing to the cells of MM the microsurrouding of bone medulla, the MRD, the mechanism of multiple drugs resistance clarified and the advent of new therapeutic method, we should believe that MM will be cured from the incurable disease.
