Objective: To observe the clinical effect of electroacupuncture therapy of Du channel on the withdrawal syndrome in heroin addicts.Methods: 90 case of patients with heroin addicts were randomly divided into the control group and the treatment group.The two groups were given methadone.In the treatment group, the points were stimulated successively with electroacupuncture with loose -dense waves. Results: 1. There was a significant difference before and after treatment in every group ( P < 0.05 ). 2. There was a significant difference after treatment between the two groups ( P < 0.05 or P < 0.01 ),and the treatment group was better than the control group. 3. There was a significant difference in perspiration ,anxiety and pain after treatment between the two groups ( P < 0.05 or P < 0.01 ),and the treatment group was better than the control group. 4. There was a significant difference in weight before and after treatment in every group ( P < 0.01 ). But there was no significantdifference between the two groups ( P > 0.05 ). Conclusion: The investigation proved that the method of electroacupunctruing the points of Du Channel was effective on withdrawal syndrome in heroin addicts. Electroacupunctruing the points of Du Channel can alleviate anxiety and pain .
