Objective: The vertebral canal is a boned fibroid canal, it has a complex anatomic structure. Acquainting with the representation of the structure is the base of making diagnosis of vertebral canal disease. With the quick development of image diagnostic technology, the check of MRI is providing a firm technological base for the image anatomy study of vertebral canal. Furthermore the value of primitive diagnosis of the vertebral canal diseas is being identified with more and more scholars. Whereas, as far as the study of vertebral canal concerned all over the world at the present time, most scholars are paying attention to the singularity study of regarding to a certain segment or localizing to a certain indicatrix and ignoring the totalite and the systematization. Up to now there is not any report about measureing the normal standard value of vertebral canal by MRI. The purpose of our text is to researching the MRI representation of vertebral canal, and building up a MRI measured standard value of normal Chinese vertebral canal and its interior strctureut ,approaching the interrelation of the vertebral canal together with its contents and the ambient structure, omplementing correlative image diagnostic data,offering a correlative anatomy reference to the clinical diagnosis and therepy.Methods: We have measured and observed the cervical segment,thoracal segment and loin segment spine of 424 examples of health men around shijiazhuang area whose 3280 corpus vertebrae had been scaned by MRI. The measured indicatrix include 10 members: the radius vector of vertebral canal, the transverse diameter of vertebral canal, the exponential of canal, the radius vector of spinal cord, the transverse diameter of spinal cord, the height of middle corpus vertebrae, the transverse diameter of spinal cone, the radius vector of spinal cone, the anterior posterior diameter of lateral recess of L3-S1,the thickness of epidural fat at the L5-S1 level. All values were deal with statistic analysis and at last we come to a conclusion. Results:(1)the radius vector of the C1,C2 canal are larger, the average values of C3-C5 is male 13.49±0.59mm,female 13.24±0.63mm;T1~T12 male 14.73±1.24mm,female 14.45±1.41mm;L1~L5 male 16.85±1.58mm,female 16.61±1.23mm。the transverse diameter of vertebral canal of C1 is larger, the average values of C2~C7 male 22.49±1.42mm,female 22.55±1.28mm;T1~T12 male 17.18±1.49mm,female 16.74±1.47mm;L1~L5 male 23.86±2.53mm,female 23.56±2.85mm。(2) the radius vector of C3~C7spinal cord male 7.85±0.86mm,female 7.78±0.84mm; T1~T12 male 8.54±0.73mm,female 8.52±0.68mm;the transverse diameter of spinal cord :C3~C7 male 11.43±1.62mm,female 11.32±1.51mm;T1~T12 male 9.31±1.21mm,female 9.25±1.17mm。(3) the exponential of vertebra cervicalis canal: Except that C2 is above 80 and is alike a rondure,C1,C3-C7 are all between 50 and 80,like triangle; the exponential of vertebra thoracalis canal: Except that T1<80 and is alike a triangle,all others are between 80and 95 are alike rondure or approximative rondure, the exponential of vertebra lumbalis is between 60and 80,it is a polygon like a triangle.(4)...
