| ObjectiveTo observe the treatment effect of recombinant human growth hormone (rhGH) of fracture in rabbit and humankind.Mater i a I and methodsTwenty radius bone defect models were made in ten adult New Zealand rabbit handlimbs and were randomly divided into treatment and controlled group. The treatment group was subcutaneously injected rhGH 0. 2 IU per kg per day after the operation for 2 weeks, in the same method and duration, the controlled group was injected the same amount of isotonic saline as a placebo, X-ray and pathological examination was made at the 2nd , 3rd, 4th and 6th week respectively, the blood glucose level were examined at the 2nd, 4th , 7th, llth, 16th, 22nd and 29th day. All results were analysed after the experiment finished. After experiment a dose of treatment of rhGH was used in humankind. A likely methods were used in clinic treatment, and the results were all analysed after treatment.ResultThe rhGH treatment group was obviously superiority to the controlled group in bone healing. Blood glucose level of thetreatment group was slightly higher than that of the controlled group during treatment and recovered rapidly to normal level after the treatment finished. Clinic research showed that the same result can be obtained in humankind.ConclusionrhGH has an effectively treatment effect on fracture in rabbit as well as in humankind and no obviously side effect was observed. |
