| 1 Background Stomach is one of main digestive organ in human body. Disorder of Gastric motility is a key facter to cause disease of gastrointestinal dyskinesia . It is a common disease in digestive outpatients. For example, the quantity of patients with functional dyspepsia(FD) whose main symptom is gastric dyskinesia are one third in all outpatients and maybe is 20%-40% in west nation. If he gastric dyskinesia caused by organic disease such as ulser and chronic gastritis is added, the morbidity is higher. Kinetogenic Medicine is important to treat disease of gastrointestinal dyskinesia. Recently years, finding new drugs from traditional nature material used in traditional medicine are thinked highly gradually by developed country and Traditional Chinese kinetogenic herbal Medicine are investigated hotly with deeply studying kinetogenic medicine. Wester medicine names those medicine promoting gastrointestinal motility and increasing stomach emptying as "gastrointestinal kinetogenic drugs". Traditional Chinese medicine emphasizes the function of spleen and stomach (including gut in wester medicine) and there are greatly abundant experience and theory in TCM. The disease of spleen and stomach have similar symptom and physical sign to the disease of gastrointestinal dyskinesia. It is very valuable to find some new drugs in TCM to promote gastrointestinal motility and treat disease of gastrointestinal dyskinesia, for some kinds of Chinese herb can promote effectly gastrointestinal motility but have little side effect. Areac nut have those function of destroying parasite, resolving digestion, promoting the circulation of QI to remove dampness, promoting diuresis and relaxing the bowels in TCM. Long time application of clinic and experimental studies show Areac nut canenhance gastrointastinal peristalsis and increase secretion of digestive juice. But reports about the effect of Areac nut on motility of gastric smooth muscle in vivo are not found yet.2 Objective This study aims to investigate the effect of Areac Nut on gastric Motility in vivo and the secrection of Gastrointestinal peptide of Normal rats and Rats of model, with the result that can offers some theorial foundation and trial methods for developing Areac nut or other new herbal medicine of Kinetogenic Gastrointestine.3 Methods3.1 The effect of Areac nut on gastric motility of normal rats and rats of FD 40 health adult Wister rats (200+30g, half female), were equally divided into five groups: Group A was normal rats perfused stomach with low concentration Areaca nut decoction; Group B was normal rats perfused stomach with high concentration Areaca nut decoction ; Group C was normal rats perfused stomach with cisapride solution ; Group D was rats of model FD perfused stomach with low concentration Areaca nut decoction; Group E was model rats of FD perfused stomach with high concentration Areaca nut decoction .The methods of duplicating FD rats were refer to literature.Enraged the rats by moderately clasping their tail ,every time 30 minutes, four time per day and made the rats continuous enraging for a week. After fasted 18-24 hour but drinking water freely, with sterile operating technique during anesthesia with Ketamine Hydrochloride and Diazepam injected into their abdominal cavity, a strain-gauge transducer was seamed on serous membrane surface of every rat gastric antrum (strain-gauge transducer parallelled with transverse muscle of gastric antrum) to record the mobility of transverse muscle of gastric antrum. We drew the wire of strain-gauge transducer out body under rats' skin and closed their Abdomen. After rat had an hour rest, We linked the wire of strain-gauge transducer to a box of circuit and a LMS-2B scanner to record the graph of gastric mobility.We firstly recorded rats' gastric mobility on empty stomach and then recorded at 5,15,30,45,60,75,90min after perfusing saline.
