OBJECTIVE: The aim of this work was to analyze the activities of the T-SOD and GSH-P_x, NOS and the contents of NO and MDA in serum to examine the relationship among the ageing process defense antioxidant and lipid peroxidation and the effect of the Kangshouyi capsule METHODS: The levels of T-SOD, GSH-P_x, NO, NOS and MDA in blood serum were measured by the chromatometry in 57 elder and 31 younger We picked out 28 cases randomly from elder group to take Kongshouyi capsule and the previou markers were compared RESULTS:1)The activities of T-SOD, NOS and the level of NO in serum in elder group were significantly lower than the younger group(p<0 01) The levels of MDA in the elder were found to be high compared to the younger(P<0 01) There was no significantly changebetween the elder and the younger on the GSH-P_x activities as though the activities in elder were seemed to higher than in younger(P>0 05) 2) There were negative correlations between the activities of SOD,NOS and the levels of NO and age(P<0 01) Conversely, there were positive correlations between levels of MDA and age(P<0 01) But no correlations between levels of GSH-P_x and age(P>0 05) 3) We found no sex-related differences in T-SOD, GSH-P_x, MDA, NO and NOS (P>0 05) 4) There were negative correlations between the activities of T-SOD, NOS and the levels of NO and MDA(P<0 01) There were no correlation between the activity and level of MDA(P>0 05) 5) In test group, the T-SOD activity was significantly improved(P<0 01), the level of MDA were significantly decreased(P<0 01) , the activities of GSH-P_x and NOS and levels of NO were observed no changes(P>0 05) compared to before CONCLUSION:1)The levels of T-SOD, NOS, NO increased with age, while MDA declined 2)The Kangshouyi capsule can effectively improve the free radical metabolism of senile body 3) it is an ideal and effective medicine in preventing aging There were no side effects observed in test group... |
