Study On The Anti-tumor Effect Of J9311 Propolis Capsule

In this study, the water solution of J9311 Propolis Capsule was used to test the anti-tumor effect on S180 and H22 tumor cells from mice. Also the phagocytosis variation of phagocyte, the components analysis as well as the acute toxin action of propolis capsule tests were carried out to prove its positive effect.1. Anti-tumor experiment: the result has shown that the effective dosage range of J9311 propolis capsule for S180 is from 0. 6g/kg to 4. 8g/kg. In comparison with the control group, the anti-tumor rate among low(0. 3g/kg), median(0.6g/kg), high(1. 2g/kg) dosage was 9. 0%, 21.5%, 37.4%; 10.8%, 18.8%, 33.1; 6.9%, 18.2%, 42. 3% respectively in which the median one has significant difference and the high one has very significant difference. As for H22, the range (1. 6g/kg to 6.0g/kg), the dosage (low 0.8g/kg, median 1. 6g/kg, high 3. 2g/kg) and the inhibiting tumor rate among three groups ( 8. 1%, 20. 6%, 36. 9%; 6.7%, 20.5%, 33.2%; 18.3%, 24.4%, 36.3%) are quite similar to S180 test, and the difference result also is the same as S180 test.2. Phagocytosis of phagocyte: the rate of phagocytic action of mice is 31.2%, 34.6%, 36.6% and 38. 5%(among control group and low, median, high dosage groups), while the phagocytic index is 0.518, 0.592, 0.626 and 0.613. The median dosge has shown significant difference compared with the control group and the very significant one appears in the high dosage group, which gives us a clue that J9311 propolis capsule could improve phagocytic capability of mice.3. Analysis of ingredients combination of J9311: grouping royal jelly, propolis, Chinese herb, royal jelly-propolis, royal jelly-Chinese herb, propolis-Chinese herb as 18 tested samples, the inhibiting tumor effect of royal jelly, propolis, Chinese herb was tested. The result has proved that royal jelly and propolis ingredients have obvious effect, and the Chinese herb hassupplementary one.4. Acute toxin test: five dosage group- 10g/kg, 15g/kg, 22. 5g/kg, 33. 8g/kg and 50.6g/kg were selected to feed on mice. No mice were found dead after 7 days observation, but the mice appeared less active after half hour by applying 33. 8g/kg and 50. 6g/kg. All mice in the above two tested dosage groups could recover normally and no toxin was found, thus inferring that the LD50 of J9311 was at least more than 50. 6g/kg.
