PrefaceDiabetes Mellitus ( DM ) is a group endocrine and metabolism diseases which effects human healthy seriously, It can effect all the organ of the body. Osteoporosis( OP) is becoming more and more important disease today. Most of the two diseases appear in the old, so people put more attention to the connection between the two diseases. People have made some tests try to find out that can diabetes cause osteoporosis , how dose it do. Arid now there has no a definite conclusion. This experiment is looking for the relation of the two diseases through abserving diabetic rats and regular compare rats on Bone Mineral Density (BMD) , Fasting Blood Glucose (FBG) , plasma Parathyri-od Hormone (PTH) , plasma Ca and P and so on . To watch weather diabetes can gives rise to osteoporosis and how it do it.MethodsSelecting Wistar rats ( weight; 200 ?20g, male, heathy) , after fasting food 24 hours the rats were injected intraperitoueally Alloxan 200 mg/kg, and when the urine glucose were positive, the FBG were detected, choosing 20 rats whose FBG > 13. 8mmol/L for the experi-ment. And then select another 20 rats whose weight, sex and so on were same as the experiment rats as normal control group. Keep the rats for 3 months, injected insulin(INS) 2-4 units when rats appear acute complication. 3 months later , examine the BMD and plasma PTH, Ca, P and blood glucose.Results1. BMD: the test group markedly decrease, and has remarkable difference.2. Plasma PTH: the test group markedly elevate and has remarkable difference too.3. plasma Ca: the test group markedly decrease and has remarkable difference too.4. Plasma P; there is no difference between the two groups.5. The higher level of blood glucose (BD) , the lower BMD; and the same as the plasma Ca; on contrary, the higher BD , the higher level of plasma PTH ; there has no relation between the BD and the plasma P.DiscussionOP is become more popular disease, it can be cause by the disorder of the hormone, the poor of the plasma Ca, P; It can be effected by the level of PTH, INS al et. DM is a group endocrine and metabolism diseases which effects the hormone and plasma Ca, P and so on. MD probably affect BMD by follow ways;1. DM can increase the excretion of Ca, P, Mg, so the level ofplasma CA, P fall.2. DM patient is short of INS, the INS can stimulate the form of Vitamin D, which promote the absorbing of Ca, it cause the bone forming decrease and bone absorbing increase.3. DM patient have high level of plasma PTH , PTH is cause bone forming decrease and bone absorbing increase too.4. DM can effect secreating of other hormone , and to reduce the BMD at all. Alloxan is a special beta cell toxic material ,it can injure many animal^ islet cell and destroy the D - glucose a receptor on the bate cell surface through many paths to cause experiment diabetes. Alloxan diabetes rat is the usually used animal model which is used to study antidiabetes agent treatment outcome. It seems more likely 1 type diabetes, but alloxan diabetic rat is situated between the two types diabetes. From this experiment, we know that the high blood glucose in diabetes cause the decrease of plasma Ca, the higher level of blood glucose (BD) , the lower plasma Ca, the lower plasma Ca effect the forming of the bone, reducing the BMD. On the other hand the lower plasma Ca can cause the increase of PTH. The PTH with high level promotes the dissolve of bone. And the plasma P has not different between the two groups, so the plasma P has no relation with the BMD.SummaryThis experiment is to study the relation of DM and OP. Selecting healthy rats ( weight: 200 + 20g, male) , injecting alloxan 200mg/kg to the rats, and then selecting 20rats whose FBG > 13. 8mmol/l for the experiment group. Selecting 20 healthy rats for normal control group, keeping the rats for three months and detect the urine glucose everytwo days. At last examine the BMD, the plasma PTH, P, Ca and so on. In order to study the relation of diabetes and OP ,...
