Abstract/Summary:
Objective: Aim of this paper is to evaluate the response of C6 glioma cells to different dose of brachytherapy using silicone ballon filled with iodine-125 in vitro. Methods: Using C6 glioma cell line with RPMI -1640 culture system, Proliferating cell nuclear antigen(PCNA) immunostaining, flow cytometry(FCM) and fluorescentstaining were employed to study the cell proliferating cell nuclear antigen lable index(PCNA-LI) ,cell activity and cell cycle after different dose of brachytheraphy using silicone ballon filled with iodine-125 solution. Results: In contrasted with the control groups, the cell death rate increased, PCNA-LI decreased, the S-phase cells reduced and Gi-phase arrested in subject groups. Conclusions: Brachytherapy using iodine-125 can inhibite the C6 glioma cells' proliferation, induce cells dead and alter the cell cycle.
