| Objective: To assess clinic characteristics of advanced patients with heart, failure. Methods: 207 heart failure patients were devided into two groups according to age. Patients aged 60-74 years were classified as Group A , aged over 75 years in Group B. The clinical manifestations were analyzed comparatively. Result: The analysis showed that the clinical manifestations were different between two groups. ①The extent of heart failure in Group B was heavier than that in Group A. ②The most common cause of heart failure were ischemic heart disease and hypertensive heart disease, but in Group B, the proportion of hypertensive heart diseases higher than that in GroupA. ③A respiratory system infection was the common precipitating cause in Group A , but tachycardia arrhythmias and other system diseases were more common in Group B. ④The proportion of diastolic heart failure and acute heart failure was increased in Group B. ⑤The most common symptoms was dyspnea in two groups. But some atypical symptoms such as cough, excessive sputum and nervous problem were more frequent in Group B. ⑥The proportion of heart enlargment in Group B was decreased, but increasing heart rate was more frequent. Positive signs in lungs became remarkable. ⑦Complications of the lung, brain were more frequent in Group B. Conclusion : Manifestations of heart failure in the elderly patients wereoften atypical, elderly patients were associated with many severe complications. |
