| Objective:To observe the theraputic effect on malignant tumor with Six Spirits Pill, and discuss its mechanism. Methods:To observe the improvement of objective effect and normal symptoms in advanced carcinoma of esophagus and cardiac orifice, and its tumor-inhibiting, survival period-prolonging, and pain-relieving effects. We detected the cytoxicity of Six Spirits Pill serum on A549 cell strain of human lung cancer with MTT, and detected cell cycle , apoptosis peak, bcl-2 with flow cytometry after 48 hours. Results: The objective theraputic effect of Six Spirits Pill was NC. It could Improve dysphagia, pain, vomit and other normal symptoms. Its tumor-inhibiting rate to SI80 sarcoma mice was 24.48%, and its survival-prolonging rate was 85.98%. It had pain-relieving effect. The Six Spirits Pill serum could inhibit proliferation of A549 through inducing apoptosis. We found the cells were inhibited in S stage, and it could reduce the expression of bcl-2. Conclusion. Six Spirits Pill was an effective formula in treating malignant tumor, and deserved to further applied and researched.
