Radix sophorae tonkinensis is the radix and rhizoma of Sophora tonkinensis Gagnep. Four compounds (compound I, II, III, IV )are isolated from Radix sophorae tonkinensis. After tested by UV, IR, MS, H1-NMR spectrum, compound I is identified Lupeol, compound II is identified 3 -sistosterol, compound IV is identified Trifolirhizin. And compound IV is isoflavonoids. For the first time we build the thin layer chromatography (TLC) identification method comparison with Trifolirhizin; and for the first time we build the High pressure liquid chromatography(HPLC) method comparison with Trifolirhizin to determine the content of Radix sophorae tonkinensis .After investigated the methods, our studies indicated that these methods are accurate, simple, good at control the quality of Radix sophorae tonkinensis.
