The Effect Of Glycyrrhizic Acid Contents In Decoctions Prepared From Various Combinations Of The Recipe Named Gegenqinliantang

Objective Ge-Gen-Qin-Lian-Tang (abb. GGQLT),consisted of Puerariae Radix,Suctellariae Radix,Coptidis Rhizoma and Glycyrrhizae Radix,was firstly described in Shang- Han-Lun.It is used as a febril prescription by the traditional Chinese physicians.Because of the compatibility of medicine's complexity,can not be escriped in the more deep level. It is still not known which is valid,which is invalid in the great of chemistry composition. This experiment has determed the change of Glycyrrhizic acid contents in decoctions prepared from various combinations of the recipe named GEGENQINLIANTANG by RP-HPLC,and also provide a reference for the control of the acid level. This experiment also establish a kind of simple,fast,eddective method of extract and the fixed quantity for the other liquorice products.Methods The contents of Glycyrrhizic acid were determined by reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography.Results The Glycyrrhizic acid contents in the decoction of liquorice was 0.89%;respectively;they varied from 0.24% to 0.59% among GEGENQINLIANTANG and the decoctions composed of two or three ingredients.Conclusion The content of Glycyrrhizic acid inGEGENQINLIANTANG could be lowered significantly by the presence of Gegen,Huangqin,Huanglian.The liquorice is one of the most common medicine inside of the traditional Chinese herbal medicine prescriptions.There are 113 places and 69 kinds of prescriptions containing the liquorice in shang-hai-lun. Thereare also 143 places and 85 types of prescriptions in in-gui-yao-lue?so we know that the liquorice is widely used. Glyrrhizic acid is the liquorice's main composition. It's necessary to give the liquorice and Glycyrrhizic acid for further research.This thesis surveys the liquorice and Glycyrrhizic acid using the analysis of quannitative and qualitative method.
