The traditional Chinese medicine, Suziyou gelatin capsule was studied systematically, which was used to treat the hyperlipemia. The optimum techinques making Suziyou capsule were screened by L9(34) orthogonal-designed choice, and the capsule was produced using pressing method. The quality standard of the capsule was established. The chief available component, a -linolenic acid Being used as control compound was separated from perilla oil. The method of identification by TLC and content determination by GC was studied. The quality standard of raw material was established. The study of the capsule under the test of influencing factors demonstrated that the capsule was unstable at high temperature and high humidity. The animal experiments proved that the capsule could lower the blood lip ids, helped the treatment of atherosclerosis obviously. It was safe and innocuous.
