Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of Wenyangzhitong capsule against the pain to bony metastatic carcinoma and the effect of analgesic experiment. Methods: 35 patients were first observed by self-cross-over control study, then divided randomly into treatment group and control group.Compare the analgesic efficacy and adverse effects of two groups after being administered. Meanwhile, the analgesic efficacy of Wenyangzhitong capsule on BABL/C mice was observed by boby-turning and hot plate experiments, combined with the experimental study of acute toxicity. Results: In the self-cross-over control study, the efficacy rates ofWenyangzhitong capsule,Indomethacin and placebo were 62.8%( 23/35 ) , 71.4%(25/35)and 28.6%(10/35), respectively.BothWenyangzhitong capsule group and Indomethacin group showed significant difference compared with the placebo group (p<0.01) , respectively. The efficacy rates 3> 7days after treatment were 66.7% ( 11/18)> 72.2% ( 13/18) of the Wenyangzhitong capsule group, and 70.6%(12/17)>64.7%(ll/17)of the Indomethacin group. There was no significant difference between them (p>0.05) Meanwhile, the experimental study showed that the capsule has clear analgesic efficacy on mice. Moreover, there was no toxicity reaction to mice according acute administering results. Conclusion: Wenyangzhitong capsule is effective against the pain to bony metastatic carcinoma and safe to acute administering.
