OBJECTIVE: To pick up the effective components of Da Chuanxiong pill, which could block the Ca2+ channel, and study the mechanism of Da Chuanxiong pill in migraine.METHODS: Endothelial cells of umbilical vein are chosen as target cells and Nimodipine as the positive contrast, and using the technique of incorporation of 45Ca2+, the blocking effect of different components of Da Chuanxiong pill on the intake capability of Ca2+ of vascular endothelial cells was studied.RESULTS: Four components, CD1, T3A, T3B, T4A, have significant blockingeffect on the Ca2+ intake of vascular endothelial cells (P <0.01). T4B, CD6 and T2B,CD2, T2A, C4, C3 have obvious effect on activating the Ca2+ channel with P<0.05and P<0.01 respectively, and the four components T1,CD5 ,C6,C5, have not obvious action on blocking or activating the Ca2+ channel (P>0.05).CONCLUSION: This study provides new theoretic evdience of treatment in migraine with Da Chuanxiong pill, and play basic role for the further clinic investigation.
