Objective: To construct canine bifurcation aneurysms suitable for evaluating emerging endovascular devices for aneurismal therapy by endovascular technique and estimate whose constant changes with DSA examination in three days.Material and methods: Six dogs were anesthetized, the right CCAs were expanded with a pliable balloon by means of endovascular technique, then were embolized with detatched balloons at whose origin. Six aneurysms were created. DSA examinations were performed on postprocedural days 1,2,3 to estimate the changes of those aneurysms. Results: Six saccular bifurcation aneurysms were created in six dogs. The mean width and height of the aneurysms decreased in 3 days. Conclusion: This aneurysm model recreated the size, shape and hemodynamic forces of human cerebral bifurcation sacccular aneurysms on the first day of creation and it is suitable for evaluating emerging endovascular devices for aneurismal therapy. The efficient creation of the aneurysms was rapid, reliable and reproducible.
