Objective: To investigate the effect of the combined use of Ginseng and Pilose's Antler on prostata, sperm reservoir, serum testosterone and tissue structure of testis of kidney-yang deficiency model rat to prove that the drugs could improve or treat reproductive deterioration and find the most suitable dose of the drugs. Methods: There are 117 male SD rats which are randomly divided into 13 groups: normal contrastive group, model contrastive group, Ginseng group, Pilose's Antler group, and the combined groups of Ginseng and Pilose's Antler(nine groups totally). Give the rats drugs for 3 weeks after giving them food involving of 0.5% Adenine for 4 weeks. Stop giving them food then measure blood serum testoterone, wet weight of prostata and sperm reservoir and testis's pathological histology determination 24 hours later. Results: Ginseng group, Pilose's Antler group and the combined groups of Ginseng and Pilose's Antler can all increase blood serum testoterone. Pilose's Antler group, the combined groups of Ginseng and medium or high dose of Pilose's Antler. Ginseng group. Pilose's Antler group and the combined groups of Ginseng and Pilose's Antler can increase the number of sperm and Leydig cell, alleviate deterioration of contorted seminiferous tubule. Conclusion: The combined use of Ginseng and Pilose's Antler can improve reproductive deterioration of kidney-yang deficiency model rat. The effect of the combined use of Ginseng and Pilose's Antler is better than that of using Ginseng or Pilose's Antler only. The effect is the best when the ratio of the combined use of Ginseng and Pilose's Antler is five to two.
