Objective: To evaluate the effect of phyllanthus urinaria (PU) and It's compound (PUC) on symptomless carriers of hepatitis B virus. Methods: 191 patients with symptomless carriers were randomly divided into three groups. 72 patients and 73 patients were treated three months with PU and PUC respectively. The control group included 46 patients. Result: the level of HBsAg descended averagely 1.57Log and 1.66Log respectively in PU group and PUC group, while in control group enhanced averagely 0.45Log. 34.5% and 35.9% of patients in PU group and PUC group respectively lost their HBeAg (while control was 3.0%). The level of HBV-DNA in PUC group after treatment were descended remarkably. Conclusion: The results indicate that PU and PUC can inhibit HBV.
