Objective To find the morphological evidences of the bi-directional regulations between the neuroendocrine system and immune system by detection the expression of ACTH-R and 5HT1A-R and their mRNA in human normal and hyperplasia lymphoid tissues.Methods l.Immunohistochemical SP methods: Detection the ACTH-R and 5HT1A-R expression of 80 cases normal and hyperplasia lymphoid tissues (includes lymph nodes> spleens, intestine and vermiform appendix lymphoid tissues); 2.1n Situ Hybridyzation: Detection the ACTH-R and 5HT1A-R mRNA expession of 22 cases normal and hyperplasia lymphoid tissues(includes lymph nodes^ spleens and thymuses); Results 1. Immunohistological staining: (1)66 out of 80 cases (82.5%) showed ACTH-R positive expression; (2)69 out of 80(86.25%) cases showed 5HT1A-R positive expression; (3)The difference between the expression of ACTH-R and 5HT1A-R in lymphoid tissues are insignificant(P>0.05); 2. In Situ Hybridyzation: (3)15 out of 22 cases showed ACTH-R mRNA positive expression; (2)17 out of 22 cases showed 5HT1A-R mRNA positive expression;(3)The difference between the expression of ACTH-R mRNA and 5HT1A-R mRNA are insignificant (P>0.05);3.The differences between immunohischemical staining and In Situ Hybridyzation : The 22 cases of the In Situ Hybridyzation specimens are detected by immunohistochemical staining: (1)ACTH-R:18 out of 22 cases(81.81%) are positive expression, the difference between the In Situ Hybidyzation (72.7%) and theimmnohistochemical staining are insignificant(P>0.05); (2)5HT1A-R:18 out of 22 cases are positive expression(81.81%), the difference between the In Situ Hybidyzation(77.2%) and the immnohistochemical staining are insignificant (P>0.05);Conclusions l.The lymphoid tissues can not only express the ACTH-R and 5HTlA-R,but also synthesize their mRNA .ACTH-R and 5HT1A-R are the common biologic messages between neuroendocrine system and immune system, they can regulate the functions of the network of neuroimmunoendocrine, and play important roles on the diseases in the network. The studies in these fields will give some theoretical foundation to the prevention and treatment of diseases in the network.
