| Abstract Objectives: to explore the anti-heart failure effects and polyphenols of Fu Fang Huang Jing Oral Liquor Methods: 66 male SD rats are employed as subjects. Rats with heart failure caused by ADR-induced cardiotoxicity are treated as models. (20 mg/kg of ADR is given to the rats intermittently within 16 days. ADR 1mg/kg is injected ip at day 2, day 4; 2mg/kg at day 6, day 8; 3mg/kg at day 10, day 12; 4mg/kg at day 14, day 16) The 66 rats are randomly divided into 6 groups (each containing 11 rats), namely, 3 Control group, ADR Group, ADR&Fu Fang Huang Jing Oral Liquor respectively with great dosage (6 ml), medium dosage (4m1) and small dosage (2 ml), and ADR& Tian Bao Ning as a positive Control Group. LVMIBW, a -MHC, and f3 -MHC are measured. Meanwhile, observations and evaluations are made on the super-micro structural changes in myocardiac cell via electromicrography. Results: When the accumulative ADR dosage amounts to 20 mg/kg, a serious heart failure occurs in those rats treated with ADR. Shifts from a -MHC to f3 -MHC occur in ADR Group which is shown in the decrease of a -MHC (Vs Control Group p <0.01) and the increase in f3 -MHC (Vs Control Group p <0.01). In ADR Group, An increase is also found in LVM/BW (Vs Control Group p |
