The Clinical Significance Of Interlcukin 12 In Assessing The Prognoese Of Severe Hepatitis

Object: Study the clinical significance of the change of the serum IL- 12 in assessing the prognosis of severe hepatitis by investigating IL- 12 levels . hepatic function and clinical appearance of patients with severe hepatitis accepting plasma exchanges or hemofiltration Methods: The patients with severe hepatitis were randomly divided into two groups: the therapeutic group and controlled group. The former was consisted of two groups: twenty-two patients were operated by plasma exchange combined with basic therapy in l gJoup; eighteen patients were taken hemofiltration combined with basic therapy in 2nd group . The latter (twenty patients) only accepted basic treatment .The levels of IL- 12. TNF- a in serum and hepatic function were detected before and after treating. Results: In l group, after plasma exchange the total of IL- 12 the serum levels of ALB and CI-IE increased and TB TD decreased; comparing the total of IL- 12 before and after plasma exchanging , p <0.05;the IL-12 level increased gradually ,and was up to 386.30 27.OOpgIl after 5 days; The relation of the increase of IL-12 and the decrease of TB was negative mutuality, r=-0.64 ; and the relation of the increase of IL-12 and the changes of ALB, CHE was positive mutuality, r0.71 in group. In 2nd group, the serum level of IL-12 increased after hemofiltrating. The serum level of IL- 12 of controlled group had not changed before and after treatment. Conclusion: Artificial Liver support treatment ( plasma exchange and hemofiltration) can increase the serum level of IL- 12, the increased serum level of IL- 12 is responsible for better of the hepatic function and clinical appearance of severe hepatitis.
