Wood Properties And Seedling Technologies Of Bambusa Sinospinosa,bambusa Blumeana And Dendrocalamus Yunnanicus

Abstract/Summary:
In recent years, bamboo as a kind of excellent sustainable development resource is getting more and more attention,which mainly used on the timber processing and paper-making with bamboo pulp. However, the development and utilization of bamboo are still in traditional mode,facing lots of problems. The first is that raw materials requirement is large, while yield of bamboo is low,which has supply and demand contradiction.The second is that sympodial bamboos need better development, especially the large diameter-class ones which have good displays in stem straight and wall thickness.This article took Bambusa sinospinosa,Bambusa blumeana and Dendrocalamus yunnanicus,which are big sized sympodial bamboos as research objects. Comparing with Phyllostachys edulis and Bambusa textilis which had good properties to be utilized, the three sympodial bamboos were studied including biomass ,culm form, physical and mechanical property, chemical property and fibre forms, in order to provide scientific foundation of development and utilization of new board and pulp materials.The main results are as follows:From the aspect of board materials, the average height and DBH of the three sympodial bamboos were similar or somewhat larger than Phyllostachys edulis. And in the same DBH, fresh weight of the three sympodial bamboos were larger than P. edulis. They all had long internode (reached 50cm). The culm taper of Bambusa sinospinosa and Bambusa blumeana were lower. Dendrocalamus yunnanicus had the same basic density(reached 0.741 g·cm-3 ) with P. edulis, while Bambusa sinospinosa and Bambusa blumeana were lower.Their mechanical properties were almost equal to P. edulis. So the three sympodial bamboos could be utilized as bamboo board material.From the aspect of pulp materials ,the result of chemical composition and fiber forms test showed that they had large fiber length and length-width ratio while the thickness-diamete ratio was small. Acid-soluble lignin , holocellulose andα-cellulos were equal relatively. So the three sympodial bamboos could be utilized to produce pulp.Based on the screening of wood properties, this article also did seedling experimental, which indicated that Bambusa sinospinosa and Bambusa blumeana breeded by culming on the base part were higher which had larger ground diameter(reached 3.7m,2.8cm respectively), meanwhile, the rate of bamboo shoots developed into normal bamboo was the highest (reached 95%)by double internode burying method. And Dendrocalamus yunnanicus breeded by single internode burying method had the best emergence rate and emergence quantity.
