With many mountains and hilly, small and scattered fields, and rural economic conditions relatively backward in our country, walking-type rice transplanter still has wide application and marketing, researching on transplanting mechanism of walking-type rice transplanter still has practical significance on improving the mechanization of rice cultivation and economic development. Based on working principle and structure characteristics of foreward transplanting mechanism with planetary gears and elliptical gears on high-speed transplanter and combined the agronomic with walking-style transplanter requirements, the structure and parameters of this transplanting mechanism has been improved to be backward transplanting mechanism,so that it can be applied to walking-type rice transplanter by using modern design methods, and the improved transplanting mechanism has been analyzed and optimized to improve its performance of planting in this paper:1) Analysis the structure characteristics and working principle of main transplanting mechanism at home and broad, directed to the problems of crank-rocker transplanting mechanism on walking-type rice transplanter and proposed the need for rotary transplanting mechanism to be applied to walking-type rice transplanter.2) According to the drive characteristics of the elliptical gears, the drive characteristics of planetary elliptical gears has been analyzed; based on generating method processing principle, the exact elliptical gear tooth profile has been obtained by the parameters of gear modeling and numerical calculation.3) Improving the structure and parameters of backward transplanting mechanism with planetary spur gears and elliptical gears on high-speed transplanter, so that the transplanting mechanism can be applied to walking-type rice transplanter, using numerical analysis method to develop kinematic model of the improved mechanism.4) Using computer graphics principles and programming techniques, kinematics assisted analysis software of improved transplanting mechanism has been developed; a set of optimum structure parameters have been gotten by using kinematic analysis software:k=0.958,a=18.836, a0=-38°,ψ0=30°,δ0=116°,S=168mm,R=16mm,also the kinematics characteristics of transplanting mechanism has been further analyzed.5) Suing dynamic analytical method to establish the dynamic model, the dynamics characteristics of backward transplanting mechanism on walking-type transplanter has been analyzed and studied.
