In this article, the concept,features,advantages,limitations and development history of NIRS (near-infrared spectrum) were introduced,then the application of AOTF-NIRS in four different aspects of tobacco production was studied.The primary results were as follows:1. A rapid and quantitative detection of NIRS method was used for detecting the main chemical composition in tobacco leaves at all stages of manufacture. The quantitative calibration models were established using a precise measurement of the first class data and a multiple regression PLS1 method. The result showed that each model kept a good linear relationship (R2>0.95) and there was enough grab samples for making models and good date gradient distribution. The chemical value of verification samples were tested by laboratory standard method and pretreatment of spectra data by savitzky-golay was carried after scanning the samples, chemometrics analysis software was import and established mathematical models were called for forecasting, then forecast deviation of each verification sample and average forecast deviation of all verification samples were calculated. The results confirmed that, the predicted values of rapid and quantitative detection of NIRS method had very small deviations compared with the primitive chemical values detected by standard method and were acceptable in the scope of experiment error.2. The main chemical components in first-cured tobacco leaves can be detected by the rapid and quantitative detection of NIRS method so the quality of tobacco leaves would be know promptly. This method can be used for providing quality information for cigarettes industry enterprises, speeding up tobacco allocations of industry and commerce, providing tobacco formula theoretical basis for cigarettes industry enterprises and achieving reasonable use of tobacco material.3.The main chemical components in green tobacco leaves such as nicotine, total sugar, reducing sugar, total nitrogen, potassium and chlorine can be detected by the method of rapid and quantitative detection of NIRS,which can be used for real-time and on-line monitoring of tobacco growing in the field, knowing tobacco dry matter accumulation dynamics, adopting corresponding agronomic measures and making chemical composition of tobacco tend to coordinate.4.The mainly nutrients of oil cakes can be detected by the method of rapid quantitative detection of NIRS,which can be used for real-time and on-line monitoring of purchased oil cakes and ensure products'quality. According to the characteristics of oil cakes, standards were established for each index,those suppliers whose index content did not reach the standard would be under the corresponding economic sanctions so they were made to monitor the quality of products. At the same time, this method was good for knowing nutrients of oil cakes exactly, providing scientific basis for the ratio of nutrients of tobacco balanced fertilization techniques and preventing tobacco overnutrition and malnutrition that caused by excessive or insufficient fertilization.5. NIRS can be used to classify the raw materials of floating nursery substrates effectively. The testing models with different substrates formula proportion can effectively identify whether the testing samples are belong to the same kind and other substrates formula proportion can not be identified by this model. So quantitative analysis model can be established in the production of standard floating nursery substrates formula ratio and NIRS is used for qualitative analysis to determine whether float nursery substrates formula ratio is eligible and implement real time on-line monitoring of product quality.
