There are many awns and thorns on the surface of barely, rice and grazing. Awns and thorns can't be wiped off by threshing. They will jam the sieve pore. It will affect the quality of rice seeds. It is very important to study rice awned machine. Some factories produce some rice awned machines. But they are applicable for field. There isn't plot awned machine for breeding seeds. It can clean awn of rice and better seed surface. So it can improve seed precision and meet agronomic requirements. The study included the following aspects:1. The paper process material characteristic test. It tested angle of repose,angle of glide-friction,angle of inner-friction on the rice seed and awned rice seed. Test result supplies sufficient theory gist for design of the vertical rice awned machine.2. The paper research awned parts of rice awned machine, the study established rice comparative equation.3. This paper makes awning device virtual manufacture and move simulation by applying relative modules of Pro/E software, it can process and analysis movement result.4. This paper does single factor experiment research on the rate of awning, that is inquiring into the impact on the rate of awning: speed of awned machine kinetic tooth,clearance of kinetic teeth and resting tooth,awning time,material of kinetic tooth. It also does single factor experiment research on the rate of damage that is inquiring into the impact on the rate of damage.5. This paper does multiple factors experiment research on the rate of awning.The three factors five horizontal quadratic orthogonal rotational united design experiment method was used to research parameters of awned machine . The three factors are speed of awned machine kinetic tooth , clearance of kinetic tooth and resting tooth,awning time. The target is the rate of awning and the rate of damage.6. Software of Design-expert Version7.0 was applicable to find the optimum combination scheme which the speed of awned machine kinetic tooth , clearance of kinetic tooth and resting tooth,awning time.
