Wheat stripe (yellow) rust (Puccinia striiformisf.sp.tritici) was an important worlde disease of wheat. Whether in the world or the history of China, has repeatedly disease pandemic, resulting in the loss of wheat crop yield. The main reason is due to Stripe Rust pathogen races of variation, so that in large scale loss of resistance to rust resistance varieties. However, when the toxicity of a mutant strain appears not yet caused a pandemic when the characteristics of the mutant analysis and production of this mutation on the resistance of effective resistance genes is very important. This study is due to the emergence of a mutant strain of Sichuan Province, on Chuanmai 42 susceptible cultivars. Virulence of 18 isolations Puccinia striiformisf.sp.tritici collected from Chuanmai 42; Investigation variety resistance of mixed strains in the field;Resistance Analysis the reserve varieties in Sichuan Province for 10 mutants; using molecular biology tools - AFLP molecular fingerprinting study on the strain characteristics. The main results as follow:1. Chuanmai 42 mutant strains for physiologic races snd virulent types, Chuanmai 42 showed susceptible to all mutants. Although divided into 4 small types, but all have high similarity.2. Few resistant varieties in Sichuan Province, Few varieties have resistance collected form 64 local varieties for mixture mutant strain.3. When the mutant strain appears in Sichuan province, only 8 reserve varieties are completely resistant in 39 reserve varieties. Total of 23 reserves varieties completely loss of resistant.4. Done on 28 strains of AFLP molecular fingerprinting, from 90 pairs of EcoRI / MseI primer combinations were screened out of the 7 polymorphic primer combinations. Seven pairs of primers were amplified with a neat and clear type 164 bands were polymorphic bands for the seven multi-state rates of 4.3%.
