In the 21st century information era, agricultural expert system is development to improve agricultural production management; it is an innovation method to resolve agricultural problems using expert system technology and agricultural knowledge. Corn is major grain crops in china, and there are many of production bases, so increasing the output of corn is important to china's agricultural development. During the production, if corn plants in the growing process aren't timely and effective supplementary nutrients, for example nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium and so on, it is seriously affect the quality and yield of corn, so corn deficiency prevention and diagnosis is an important way to increase corn production, is also an effort hot spot to agricultural researchers. The paper firstly proposes the development of corn nutrient deficiency diagnosis expert system to solve corn production shortcomings, the goal is to provide decision basis and control method for improving corn output and management level. Expert system is a new way and a technology, it can be many value agricultural knowledge, experience and scientific and technological achievements and so on together to simulate human thinking for building a computerized agricultural expert system software, the software has a high level of practicality and expert level to be information, modern and intelligent in agricultural production and management.The paper learns the expert system basic principles and development principles, according to life cycle method of software project, realizing the expert system with layer by layer in depth design, development. The solution is: knowledge acquisition of expert system primarily from agriculture expert knowledge, technology literature, scientific research and so on, after collating relevant information into value knowledge and rules, using visual SQL Server 2005 database development platforms to build knowledge base, using visual studio .net development tools to achieve the expert system, system management ,basic information, pest management, fertilizer management and expert diagnostic capabilities five.The knowledge of expert system knowledge base uses production of knowledge expression; inference engine uses forward and backward reasoning; The paper is about acyclic graph of analysis to reason the conclusions of corn nutrient deficiency diagnosis, it is not only realized a non-linear reason capabilities ,but also increased the system speed to save memory space.The expert system is full featured; technologically advanced software, reach the field expert level, is complementary and alternative agricultural experts to guide farmers in corn production; it has be a user friendly nature, practical and convenient, powerful characteristics.
