The Development Of Trouble Diagnosis Expert System For Feeding Processing Equipment

The goal of equipment trouble diagnosis is to reduce the expense of life cycle and to create good social economic benefits. As the reasons of equipment trouble are fairly complicated, some equipment trouble cause unnecessary losses of economic because of no timely diagnosis. To help feed plants make convenient , quick , accurate judgements for trouble , increase the utilization ratio of equipment and reduce the losses of economic, we developed the Trouble Diagnosis Expert System for Feed Processing Equipment(FPETDES).According to the characteristic of feed processing mechanical failure, FPETDES imitates the diagnosis train of thought and methods of repairing experts and uses software such as Visual Basic 6.0 , Microsoft Access 8.0, Authorware 5.0, PhotoShop 5.0 and AutoCAD 2000 to compile program. The given system is mainly made of function modules as follows: trouble diagnosis module , knowledge database management module , information inquiry module and system help module. The users can find trouble reasons conveniently and quickly through a way of dialogue of man-machine and preserve their knowledge database and inquire information. Among these modules, both trouble diagnosis module and knowledge database management module are core modules of system.It's the most important job to construct trouble diagnosis module. At first, you must gather and refine a lot of knowledge including practical experiences from equipment-repairing experts and compile into a knowledge database. Second, you must build inference machine, which use knowledge in knowledge database to infer through a certain strategy and drive correct diagnosis results, according to information offered by users. FPETDES adopt a way of knowledge expression based on creation way of rule and combine "Access" database to build knowledge database. Storage query is widely used in knowledge database to increase retrieving efficiency of knowledge databaserule. Inference machine combine inaccurate inference ways and positive inference control policy construction to imitate the diagnosis train of thought and methods of repairing expert and to make trace explanation for inference process. It can help users understand the conclusion offered by expert system.Knowledge database module is in charge of knowledge in knowledge database. Its function is to repair , delete, add knowledge and make all necessary changes caused by this, preserving consistency and integrity of knowledge database.Trouble diagnosis module and knowledge database management module are all involved with Visual Basic 6.0's visiting to Access 8.0. FPETDES adopt DAO collection as front development tool to store and read "Access" database, using DAO as bridge between program and specified database.
